Skinny Fence Tool

Walter Skinner found handling the fibreglass posts was a problem so he developed the Skinney to make life easier. The Skinney was so successful he patented it and has contracted Jenquip to manufacture and market it.

The Skinney is designed to handle both 9mm or the larger 13mm fibreglass Posts. The post is simply placed between the lower jaws while a bracket supports the upper part of the post. By pushing down on the lower jaw with the foot, the post is pushed into the ground. This is usually done in several 60 mm pushes, “ratcheting” the jaws up the post as required.

The picture on the left shows the insertion process. The jaws firmly hold the post without damaging it.

The Skinney can just as easily remove the fibreglass Posts from the ground. The tool is turned upside down so the jaws are uppermost on the post with the handle lower down (see picture at the right). Simply pulling upwards on the jaw draws the post out of the ground.

Note that clips do not have to be removed from the posts before inserting or removal. Occasionally, the tool may have to be repositioned if a clip gets in the way

.

A new addition to Skinny range is a model for inserting bamboo stakes into the ground.

These are ideal for plant nurseries or similar. They can easily insert the stakes into quite hard ground without damaging the stakes
